This year will see the debut of The Crystal Cup, an exclusive golf tournament, representing a partnership between Crystal and golf management company Troon. The event promises a high-end fusion of elite golfing and luxury travel, culminating at the prestigious Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia, the site of the PGA TOUR’s RSM Classic. “We are delighted to partner with Troon to create an unparalleled golf experience that embodies the luxury and exclusivity synonymous with Crystal,” Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group Chief Marketing Officer Peter Chipchase said. Troon CEO Tim Schantz echoed the sentiment, calling it “a level of play and luxury that simply can’t be found anywhere else.”

Golf legends Luke Donald and Lexi Thompson have signed on as official ambassadors. The Crystal Cup is a fantastic initiative that brings together the best of both worlds – challenging golf at well-known courses and the exceptional service, dining and entertainment you get on a Crystal cruise,” Donald, former World No. 1 and European Ryder Cup Captain, said. Meanwhile, Thompson welcomed the opportunity to share his passion for golf with fellow enthusiasts. “This tournament combines the thrill of competition with the luxury of a Crystal cruise, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone involved,” he said. Kicking off with 10 local qualifiers at private clubs nationwide, the tournament continues with three regional qualifiers hosted by Troon at premier venues: Aviara Golf Club in California on 10 July, Tobacco Road in North Carolina on 19 August, and La Cantera in Texas on 26 August. A total of 940 teams are expected to compete. With signature hospitality, exclusive prizes including a 29-night cruise, and appearances by Donald and Thompson, The Crystal Cup is set to become a standout event in both the golf and travel worlds.
