Virgin Hotels Collection has officially opened its first address in London – the birthplace of the Virgin Group.
Having soft-launched in August 2024, Sir Richard Branson was on hand for the recent grand opening of Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch, alongside Virgin Hotels CEO, James Bermingham.
The former Mondrian Shoreditch is Virgin’s eighth property globally, and features 120 rooms and 14 suites with iconic red doors, plus a rooftop pool and club. Also at the summit is Marlin’s on the Roof restaurant (opening later this year), a private gym and treatment rooms.
The London hotel is also the birthplace of Virgin Hotels Collection’s new hi-fi listening bar, known as Hidden Groves.
Hidden Groves is tribute to Virgin’s musical roots. Branson explains: “We built our name on records – now inside our beautiful new hotel, we’ve built a space where people can enjoy them again. Who doesn’t remember visiting a Virgin Megastore and listening to music before choosing which album to buy? This is exactly the feeling of nostalgia we wanted to recreate with Hidden Grooves.”
