The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection welcomed Brent Wallace from SmartFlyer Australia and Kendal Thomas from American Express in Australia on board its third yacht, Luminara, last week for the vessel’s Preview Voyage.
Wallace and Thomas were hosted aboard the brand-new ultra-luxury yacht on a three-night sailing from Barcelona to Civitavecchia (Rome) by Seb Seward, Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific and Anastasia Kotanidis, Director, Travel Partnerships – Australia & New Zealand. The itinerary included the celebratory christening of Luminara in the Port of Barcelona on Thursday evening by British actress, Simone Ashley.
On Friday morning, Luminara docked in Palma de Mallorca, giving all guests onboard the chance to explore parts of the Spanish island either independently or on a pre-organised excursion. Highlights of the destination include the enormous Santa María cathedral, a Gothic landmark which begun construction in the 13th century and overlooks the Bay of Palma.
Saturday was a day at sea, with guests able to explore and experience Luminara‘s array of dining venues, masterclasses and experiences that had been coordinated by The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, such as Astrology readings, cooking demonstrations, an art and design tour of the vessel, plus activations from partners and spa opportunities.There were themed events on each day, with guests provided a very handy style-guide well in advance to boarding the yacht, that features a Pinterest gallery of suggested garb for events themed as ‘Mediterranean Mosaic’, ‘Celestial Radiance’ and ‘Mediterranean Elegance’.
First and foremost, there guided tours of Luminara shortly after boarding the yacht on Friday afternoon in Barcelona for guests to gain their bearings around the 226-suite yacht and be introduced to some of the new spaces and venues, including the Art Bar on Deck 9. This bright and light bar features a combination of indoor and outdoor seating, and featuing a collection of statues.
LATTE was also honoured to be invited aboard Luminara for the Preview Voyage, as a guest of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.
