Hilton has announced the signing of Waldorf Astoria Bali, with the new property to open in late 2027 in Nusa Dua.
Revealing the news to media at a dinner at Burnt Ends in Singapore during International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Asia Pacific, Hilton Vice President Luxury Brands Asia Pacific Candice D’Cruz said it comes amid a big year for the Waldorf Astoria brand as it grows its footprint worldwide. “We have six openings,” she said, highlighting the recent opening of the Waldorf Astoria Osaka.
Waldorf Astoria Bali will feature 71 expansive villas and 68 elegant guest suites, creating a destination that blends “grandeur with effortless luxury.” The resort promises “an elegant oceanside retreat” that unites world-class design, excellent service and unforgettable experiences.
“Today’s luxury traveller is seeking more than just a beautiful stay – they’re seeking meaningful, immersive experiences rooted in culture and authenticity,” said D’Cruz. “With Waldorf Astoria Bali, we’re meeting this desire by blending the brand’s timeless elegance with the opportunity to connect more deeply with one of the world’s most inspiring destinations.”
Continuing its renowned culinary legacy, Waldorf Astoria Bali will introduce The Ledge by Dave Pynt, a modern barbecue restaurant led by the award-winning chef behind Burnt Ends who is known for his open-fire cooking. Already popular at Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, Pynt’s concept will bring a new dimension to Bali’s dining scene.
It’s a collaboration that demonstrates Hilton’s commitment to an ever-evolving notion of luxury, according to D’Cruz. “It’s really anchoring ourselves in what’s happening in luxury, how luxury is getting a lot more informal, how luxury is all about dining and having experiences that are not really about the white gloves,” she said.
Hilton Vice President Food & Beverage Asia Pacific Marvin Alballi said Bali’s reputation as a global hub makes it a “natural home” for Waldorf Astoria’s next “culinary landmark”. “In Bali, chef Dave Pynt will bring a new level of culinary sophistication and fire-driven flair to our guests.”
Meanwhile, Pynt shared his excitement about the project. “There’s so much to explore in the local produce and flavours… At Waldorf Astoria Bali, we’re creating an experience that captures the spirit of island life – through fire, flavour, craft, and connection.”
The new resort is part of Hilton’s broader strategy to expand its luxury footprint to 150 properties across Asia Pacific in the coming years, with Waldorf Astoria hotels soon opening in cities such as Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, and Tokyo.
