Elewana Collection, an operator of lodges and safari camps across Kenya and Tanzania, has unveiled significant renovations and refreshed culinary concepts at two of its Kenyan properties: Elsa’s Kopje Meru and Elephant Pepper Camp in the Maasai Mara.

Elsa’s Kopje Meru

Located above the savannah in Meru National Park, Elewana Elsa’s Kopje first opened in 1999. The latest renovations pay tribute to its legacy while enhancing comfort and design throughout the lodge. To that point, all guest suites now have upgraded furniture, Nero-finished bathroom floors and new lighting. The expansive Private House has also received a new bath and a redesigned outdoor shower.

In addition, the main and private pools have been refinished with terrazzo tiles. Beyond this, a new in-house sundowner space overlooks Meru’s wilderness, while spa has been expanded, offering a more spacious retreat for wellness rituals. Good to know: A new outdoor cinema is set to be launched in the area within the month On the culinary side, the lodge’s updated F&B direction celebrates Kenya’s gastronomic traditions. Guests can expect slow-simmered stews and grilled meats, as well as yoghurt parfaits, fresh pastries and vibrant garden fare.

Elephant Pepper Camp

Elephant Pepper Camp Double Tent
In the Mara North Conservancy of the Maasai Mara National Reserve in southwestern Kenya, Elewana Elephant Pepper Camp has completed the final phase of its multi-stage renovation. With that, the lodge is now sporting fully upgraded guest tents, complete with new furnishings. In addition, the arrival area has been enhanced, while the mess and bar tents also received new furniture. Crowning the transformation is the debut of “Elephant and Pepper,” a new culinary concept centred on open-flame cooking. Drawing inspiration from African bushcraft and global smokehouse techniques, the dining experience showcases slow-smoked meats, ember-roasted vegetables and fire-grilled seafood infused with local spices and cooked over aromatic acacia wood. Traditional braai equipment ensures authentic preparation, while smoke-infused cocktails complete the experience.
