More than 50 representatives from Thailand’s hotels, tourism operators and airlines were out in force on Thursday 3 May for the Sydney edition of the Amazing Thailand Roadshow 2018, held at Doltone House. During the evening, guests learned how visitor numbers and revenue from Australia are up for Thailand, as well as improvements to transport networks in popular tourist areas. The roadshow also promoted the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s (TAT) ‘Open to the New Shades of Thailand’ marketing concept, which is based upon 13 core themes: Sports, Gastronomy, Maritime Tourism, Wedding & Honeymoon, Medical & Wellness, Community-based Tourism, Leisure, Green Tourism, Night Tourism, MICE, Trade Fairs, B2B Marketing Activity and Logistics. Sydney guests were treated to a display of Thai cooking by one of Sydney’s most talented Thai chefs, Sujet Saenkham, the founder of Spice I Am Restaurant. Thai canapés included a spicy chicken salad and vegetarian curry puff. To add to the excitement, guests were in with a chance to win one of TAT’s fantastic prizes, including hotel stays and airfares.
