The Balmoral, a Rocco Forte Hotel, has revealed a new look for one of its signature suites after an extensive refurbishment. The Glamis is billed as the “ultimate base” for couples and families, heads of state and VIPs. Named after one of the country’s royal abodes – Glamis Castle, the childhood home of HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother – the newly launched Glamis Suite is full of period charm and regal references, its ambience and luxury offerings giving a hint of its namesake’s legacy of style, intrigue, rebels and revolution. Overlooking the entrance to the hotel on Princes Street, the new suite can be booked with one, two or three bedrooms. A new entrance has been constructed to provide discrete, private check-ins. The Glamis Suite features a dining room table set for four, a sitting room with working fireplace and antique chandelier. At centre stage of the Master Bedroom is a full-height, half-tester bed with a tapestried canopy that recalls the romance of a by-gone era. Lewis & Wood Bosky wallpaper by artist Alexander Hamilton adds a fairy-tale quality to the scene, while two stone lions – a reference to The Royal Banner of the Royal Arms of Scotland – stand guard. A spacious Arabascato marble-clad bathroom, featuring an oversized free-standing bath that sits underneath a vintage Czechoslovakian-glass chandelier, completes the suite. The Glamis Suite starts from £3,600 per night including breakfast and the following complimentary features:
  • In-suite check-in
  • Personalised Concierge services before and during any stay
  • Full In Room Bar
  • Rocco Forte Nourish healthy cuisine for the In Room Bar (upon request)
  • Breakfast in suite or in Brasserie Prince by Alain Roux
  • Unpacking and packing service
  • Pressing of up to 4 garments
  • In-house movies
  • High-speed Wi-Fi access
