Following a recent full-resort renovation, Wakaya Club and Spa in Fiji’s Lomaiviti Group is open with a fresh new look in each of its 10 bures. Earlier this year, Wakaya Club and Spa debuted a stunning full renovation makeover following a change in management.
Each of the renovated bures provides an indoor-outdoor experience, embracing the beauty of Fiji’s natural environment as well as ensuring all of the comforts of the indoors. Each bure boasts cathedral ceilings, king-size beds with 100% cotton sheets, open-air lava rock showers, separate living rooms and relaxing decks on either side.
Many updated touches are showcased in the two deluxe bures: The Governor’s Bure, a 223-square-metre villa with a Jacuzzi bathtub, fine Italian sheets and a secluded garden with a waterfall, and the Ambassador’s Bure, a two-bedroom oceanfront retreat with a full kitchen, living room and a private two-room spa outfitted with a lanai and a plunge pool.
In addition to Wakaya Club and Spa’s bures, there are two private homes. Vale’O, or ‘House in the Clouds’ is a 1,150-square-metre, three-bedroom home that sits on 6.5 lush hectares and offers a host of luxuries: ocean views, a rock-rimmed pool with a waterfall and a Jacuzzi, a night-lit tennis court and the services of a personal chef and an on-call driver.
The Seqa Na Leqa villa offers a state-of-the-art kitchen, ample living space, a master wing, with separate his and hers bathrooms, dressing rooms and massage rooms joined by a spa pool. Also included is a private guest suite and a 30-metre infinity-edge pool on the ocean’s edge.
The Virtuoso-affiliate resort has also increased its water sports options for guests.Guests staying at the luxury privately owned resort can now experience Hobie Cats, alongside pedal boats, SUP, kayaking and scuba and snorkelling activities.
Sustainability is important to Wakaya and so it focuses its efforts on growing much of its produce onsite and sourcing over 70% of its produce from local farms and fishermen, which is prepared and cooked by Executive Chef Marielle Hajj. In addition to its environmentally conscious F&B and as part of its extensive refurbishment, Wakaya used the wood from trees that fell during a cyclone within its carpentry and furnishings, creating a seamless environment that bridges nature and luxury.Guests who book a stay before 15 December 2019 will receive a $500 voucher that can be redeemed at the spa, boutique or dive shop.
