Hawaiian Airlines will introduce new non-stop flights from Austin, Texas, and Orlando, Florida, to Honolulu beginning in the first half of 2021.
A third new US domestic route from Ontario (Long Beach), California, to Kahului, Maui, is also being added as Hawaiian Airlines places a greater emphasis on state-to-state travel rather than international routes as many countries remain in a state of flux due to the pandemic.
Once Australian travellers are able to head abroad again, the new Florida service will enable seamless ‘US beach and fun’ holidays, with flop-and-drop breaks in Hawaii en-route to the endless array of theme parks around Orlando.
“2021 is going to be a special time to experience Hawai‘i, and we can’t wait to welcome on board guests from our newest cities,” Hawaiian Airlines President and CEO, Peter Ingram said.
The Orlando-Honolulu route will operate twice weekly, starting 11 March 2021. Orlando, the home of Walt Disney World, will be the airline’s third East Coast hub, joining New York JFK and Boston.
Hawaiian Airlines will operate its 278-seat Airbus A330 on the Florida route, featuring 18 First Class lie-flat seats and 68 Extra Comfort premium economy seats, along with 192 seats in the Main Cabin.
Hawaiian Airlines’ Long Beach-Maui service will operate five times weekly, commencing 16 March. The airline will deploy narrow-body Airbus A321neos on the route, configured with 16 seats in First Class, 44 Extra Comfort seats and 129 Main Cabin seats.
On 21 April, Austin will become the first US south-central and 16th city in Hawaiian’s network. Twice weekly Airbus A330s will operate between the Texan capital and Honolulu.
