As gold sponsors of the PGA OneAsia Fiji International, InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa welcomed the inaugural tour to Natadola Bay with a grand gala dinner for 300 exclusive guests last night at the resort. Attending VIPs included Fiji’s President, Prime Minister, many renowned golf professionals vying for the FJD$1.54 million prize purse, including Vijay Singh, Matt Kuchar, Ryan Fox, defending champion Steven Jeffress as well as Fiji Rugby 7s players. The event commenced with a performance by VOU Music & Dance School, followed by the official welcome speech and official opening by the Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama. Proudly supported by the Fijian Government, the Fiji International is expected to produce a multi-million dollar boost for the Fijian economy, in addition to flow on benefits including the growth of the game in the region. The gala dinner officially commenced the PGA OneAsia Fiji International contributing to the hype, excitement and anticipation for Thursday’s tee off at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course.
